On April 10, 2017, at approximately 9:05 p.m. near Rochester, a stolen vehicle turned into a short pursuit with the suspect being taken into custody facing several felony charges.
Cory R. Espinoza, 23, of Crown Point, and Grace A. Ray, 24, of Lowell, Injured in Gary Motorcycle Crash
Ray and Espinoza were taken to Methodist North Lake Hospital in Gary with non-life threatening injuries.
Espinoza was cited for Unsafe Lane Movement, Driving While Suspended, and not having a valid Motorcycle Endorsement (learner’s permit only).

At 10:15 this morning, Indiana State Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on State Road 154 near County Road 600W. The crash involved a Sullivan County EMS ambulance and a Sullivan County Highway dump truck.
Two Injured in Rear End Collision in Sullivan County
Preliminary investigation revealed a gray 2010 Kia Forte, driven by 19-year-old Taylor Thrasher of Merom, IN., was eastbound on SR 154 approaching stopped traffic near CR 700 W. Thrasher failed to stop and struck a silver 2011 Ford F-250 pickup in the rear, driven by 70-year-old Duane Wampler of Merom, IN.
