Round two of this week’s winter storm is already spreading snow, sleet, and freezing rain across central Indiana early this morning.
Expect significant snowfall today for central and southern counties while additional freezing rain changes to frozen precipitation across far southeastern zones.
ROAD TRAVEL WEATHER AND SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Moderate to heavy snow with blowing and drifting is expected late Wednesday night through Thursday afternoon.
This will occur on top of widespread freezing rain and sleet from Wednesday and Wednesday night.
The safest place to endure a winter storm is indoors.
If you must venture out, prepare a vehicle emergency supply kit before you leave.
STORM ROUND 2 – SNOW AND ICE AFTER 7:00 AM TODAY
Snow will continue to advance into central Indiana today from the southwest, while the US-50 corridor sees changeovers from freezing rain to sleet to snow.
Northerly winds will gust as high as 30-35 mph causing blowing and drifting snow and reduced visibilities.

A winter storm continues today. Snow will intensify this morning, then diminish later today into tonight. Moderate to perhaps heavy snow will occur. Winds gusting to over 30 mph could produce blowing and drifting snow.
Travel will become difficult and may become impossible for some areas.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…Friday through Wednesday.
Roads could still be impacted by snow and any remaining ice on Friday.
Cold air late this week and early this weekend could bring wind chills near 10 below zero.
