After fair weather, this morning for most, numerous showers and a few storms will expand southeastward over the region this afternoon.
Widespread rain and scattered embedded storms will then continue until Friday evening.
A few storms may be severe, especially late Friday.

SOAKING RAINS LATE TODAY – FRIDAY NIGHT
A slowly approaching cold front will promote widespread rains late today through Friday evening, totaling 1-2 inches for most locations.
Greatest rainfall is expected along a Terre Haute-Whitestown-Elwood line, where flooding will be possible in poorly-drained and low-lying areas.
The bulk of the rain should fall tonight through late-day Friday.
Embedded t-storms, later today and again on Friday, may be strong to marginally severe.

Today: Scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 5pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 81. Southwest wind 7 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. The chance of precipitation is 30%.
Tonight: Scattered showers and thunderstorms, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 8pm. Low around 65. Calm wind becoming east around 6 mph after midnight. The chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three-quarters of an inch possible.
Friday: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. High near 73. South wind 6 to 8 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. The chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between three quarters and one inch possible.
Friday Night: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before midnight, then showers likely between midnight and 3am, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3am. Low around 48. Northwest wind 8 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph. The chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three-quarters of an inch possible.
Saturday: A 30 percent chance of showers before 9am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 59. West northwest wind 11 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph.
