The Indianapolis Indians broke a 2-2 tie with an RBI single from Bligh Madris in the bottom of the eighth inning to defeat the Columbus Clippers and take the series opener on Tuesday, 5-3.
With the win, the Indians ended a seven-game losing streak, their longest since the 2014 season. Columbus has now lost eight consecutive games of their own.
