Shower and storm chances increase tonight and into the early workweek.

Severe storms possible Monday night.

CENTRAL INDIANA HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

.DAY ONE…Today and Tonight.

  • There is a slight chance for thunderstorms tonight after 10 pm.
  • Lightning and heavy rainfall will be the main threats from any storm that forms.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…Monday through Saturday.

  • Thunderstorms are possible for at least parts of central Indiana from Monday through Tuesday night and again Thursday and Friday afternoons.
  • Some severe storms are possible Monday night through Tuesday evening, with the main threats being large hail and damaging winds.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT…

  • Spotter activation may be possible Monday night or Tuesday.

INDIANAPOLIS 7-DAY EXTENDED FORECAST

Today: Partly sunny, with a high near 79. Southwest wind 10 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph.

Tonight: Showers likely, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 2 am. Low around 60. South southeast wind 9 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. The chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Monday: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 11 am, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly between 11 am and 2 pm. High near 75. Southwest wind 7 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. The chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Monday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 8 pm, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 8 pm and 2 am, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 60. Southwest wind 5 to 9 mph. The chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Tuesday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 8 am. High near 68. West wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. The chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three-quarters of an inch possible.

Tuesday Night: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 2 am, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 48. The chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Wednesday: A 30 percent chance of showers, mainly before 8 am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 64.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 44.

Thursday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 62.

Thursday Night: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 44. The chance of precipitation is 20%.

Friday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 63.

Friday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a low around 43.

Saturday: A 20 percent chance of showers. Mostly sunny, with a high near 62.
