Indiana State Police sent this bulletin at 08/01/2017 12:46 PM EDT

Indianapolis, IN – The Indiana State Police are investigating an early morning single vehicle crash that claimed the life of a Clay County man Monday morning.

Just before 5:30 a.m., emergency crews were called to a single vehicle crash on I-465 westbound near the 36 mile marker. An off duty Johnson County Sheriff’s Deputy saw the aftermath of the crash and stopped to assist. He reported a male subject was partially ejected from the vehicle and was unresponsive. Deputy Baugh immediately began life saving medical procedures until medics arrived. Trenity Shaw, 36, was pronounced deceased a short time later at the scene.

Troopers are still working to determine the cause of the crash. Preliminary indications are Mr. Shaw’s 2002 Chevrolet ran off the road to the left and struck the concrete median wall. Shaw was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision and was partially ejected through the driver’s side window.

The left two lanes of I-465 were closed for approximately three hours while the crash was investigated and the wreckage was removed. An autopsy will be performed by the Marion County Coroner’s Office to determine the cause of death. There is no further information to release at this time.

Investigating Officers: Trooper Casey Witzigreuter / Trooper Ronneal Williams
