Weather permitting, Milestone Contractors plans to continue paving operations in the left lane of eastbound Interstate 74 after Independence Day as part of a $4.2 million project resurfacing I-74 between I-465 and London Road (Exit 103).
Milestone plans to close the left lane on eastbound I-74 between I-465 and London Road (Exit 103) starting at 9 p.m. on Wednesday, July 5. This lane closure will recur each night starting at 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. as crews remove and repave the pavement surface on the nine-mile stretch of interstate southeast of Indianapolis. Additional lane closures on the right-hand lanes of I-74 will follow.
Afterward, new lane markings, reflective pavement markers and shoulder corrugations will be installed. All work on the project is expected to be complete before October.
