Woman Shot & Killed, Boyfriend Wounded, in Overnight Shooting

June 11, 2017 by Naptown Buzz

Sunday, June 11, 2017, 4:29 AM

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department homicide detectives are investigating after a woman was shot and killed and her boyfriend is seriously wounded.

Just before 1:00 a.m. Sunday, June 11, 2017, officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to the 7200 block of Creekbrook Drive on the report a person had been shot. When officers arrived, they found an unresponsive female lying in the street suffering from at least one gunshot wound. They found a second victim (male), inside an apartment, also suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The female victim was tragically pronounced dead at the scene by EMS crews. The male victim was transported by EMS crews to Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Hospital in serious condition.

Detectives are canvassing the area for additional information and have not yet released any reliable suspect description or information. The deceased victim’s name is not yet available. Tragically this marks the second deadly shooting in this neighborhood this year (Kobi Walden was killed in May) and detectives are asking anyone with any information to call lead investigator Detective Everman at 317.327.3475 or Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317.262.8477 or TIPS.

Expect to see an increased presence in and around the area as we follow-up on each and every lead. Citizens can also download the mobile P3tips app for Apple or Android phones to submit a mobile tip, or go to www.CrimeTips.org to submit a web tip. You will remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1000 if the information leads to a felony arrest. Only tips submitted directly and anonymously to Crime Stoppers are eligible for these cash rewards Information given via Crime Stoppers should be considered anonymous.
