Weather permitting, Milestone Contractors plans to begin paving a new surface this coming week on Interstate 74 between I-465 and London Road (Exit 103).
Milestone plans to close the left lane on westbound I-74 between London Road (Exit 103) and I-465 starting at 9 p.m. on Monday (June 12). This lane closure will recur each night starting at 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. as crews remove the existing pavement and pave a new surface on the nine-mile stretch of interstate. Additional lane closures on eastbound I-74 will follow.
Afterward, new lane markings, reflective pavement markers and shoulder corrugations will be installed.
All work on the $4.2 million project on I-74 southeast of Indianapolis is expected to be complete before October.
