Six Year Old Boy from Vincennes Flown To Riley Hospital After ATV Crash

Knox County – Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating an ATV accident that resulted in a six-year-old child being flown to Riley Hospital in Indianapolis for treatment.

Derek Blackburn, 6, of Vincennes was operating a 90 cc four wheeler when he lost control and fell from the machine. He was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes for injuries to the head.

Blackburn was transported after evaluation to Indianapolis with non-life threatening injuries. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

The accident occurred on private property along Upper 11th Street in Vincennes at approximately 4:10 pm.

Responding agencies included Knox County EMS, Vincennes Fire Department, Vincennes City Police Department and Indiana Conservation Officers.
