TRIBE NOTES

ROUT IN A SHUTOUT: The 9-0 victory in Game 2 last night was Indy’s largest shutout victory since April 26, 2016 at Durham, also a 9-0 win. It also marked the Tribe’s largest run differential in a doubleheader win since July 9, 2016 @ Columbus, a 14-4 final.

A FINE NINE: The Indians’ nine-run output in the nightcap matched their largest run total for a game this season (also: May 2 vs. Toledo, 9-2 final).

TWO HITS ALLOWED: In Game 1 last night, Steven Brault and Pat Light combined for a two-hitter in Indy’s 5-1 victory. The two hits allowed by the duo matched Indy’s season-low allowed in a single game, with the other two-hitter coming on April 23 vs. Scranton/W-B in a 4-2 win at Victory Field.

BROOM EMOJI, BACK TO .500: The Indians’ doubleheader sweep last night was their first since Sept. 1, 2016 vs. Louisville. The Tribe won both of those games by identical final scores, 4-1. The two wins yesterday brought Indy back to .500 at 18-18, the first they’ve been at the .500 mark since April 9 (2-2).

THOU SHALL STEAL: The Indians have racked up 16 stolen bases in the month of May, as they’ve stolen bags in 12 of their 14 games this month. In April, the Tribe swiped 13 bases in 22 contests.

THE KING RETURNS: Tonight’s starter, Nick Kingham, makes his return to Triple-A for the first time since May 2015. In two seasons for Indy (2014-15), Kingham compiled a 6-6 record and 3.77 ERA (50 ER in 119.1 IP) over 20 starts. He had Tommy John surgery on May 27, 2015, and missed the rest of his 2015 campaign and a portion of 2016 before appearing in 10 games down the stretch between the GCL Pirates, High-A Bradenton and Double-A Altoona.
