TRIBE NOTES

ANDERSON COMES THROUGH: After going 1-for-22 to begin the season, Anderson Feliz came through in a big way for the Indians on Sunday when he launched a game-tying three-run home run in the second inning at Scranton/W-B for his first career Triple-A blast. He finished 1-for-5 with a pair of strikeouts, but he more than doubled his season RBI output, going from two to five in that category.

NO RUNZ DAN: Dan Runzler was excellent in relief for Indy on Sunday, tossing 2.1 scoreless against the RailRiders. After the Tribe bullpen threw a combined eight frames on Saturday in relief of a foot injury to starter Josh Lindblom, Runzler and Angel Sanchez were the only available pitchers out of the ‘pen for the Indians. Runzler’s 2.1 shutout innings marked his longest outing since April 26, 2016 with Rochester @ Buffalo. In that game, he recorded eight outs, allowing one hit with one strikeout.

BATS BREAKING OUT: The Indians’ bats awoke over the weekend, averaging 12.5 hits (13 and 12) and 7.0 runs (8 and 6) over the final two games at Scranton/W-B. In its seven games prior to that, Indy averaged 6.1 hits per game (43 total hits) and 2.6 runs per contest (18 total runs).
