US Coast Guard medevacs man, 41, from cruise ship Carnival Magic

MIAMI — The Coast Guard medevacked at 41-year-old man Friday from the cruise ship Carnival Magic approximately 100 miles southwest of Key West.

Watch standers with the Seventh Coast Guard District Command Center received a call from the cruise ship stating one of their passengers was suffering chest pains and needed to be medevacked. The watch standers directed the launch of a Coast Guard Air Station Miami MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew to assist.

The helicopter crew hoisted the patient, took him to the air station to awaiting EMS personnel and transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital.
