Sullivan County – This morning at 9:49, Indiana State Police responded to a two-vehicle rear-end crash on State Road 154 near County Road 700 West.

Preliminary investigation revealed a gray 2010 Kia Forte, driven by 19-year-old Taylor Thrasher of Merom, IN., was eastbound on SR 154 approaching stopped traffic near CR 700 W. Thrasher failed to stop and struck a silver 2011 Ford F-250 pickup in the rear, driven by 70-year-old Duane Wampler of Merom, IN.

Taylor Thrasher was transported by private vehicle to Sullivan County Community Hospital for treatment of chest and facial pain. Duane Wampler was transported by Sullivan County EMS to Sullivan County Community Hospital for treatment of back pain.

The traffic was stopped for an INDOT road maintenance issue.

No citations were issued.

The crash was investigated by ISP Master Trooper Tom Hanks. Assisting were ISP Sergeant Kris Fitzgerald, Sullivan County EMS, Turman Township Fire/Rescue, and Morrison’s Wrecker Service.

Under the Law, criminal charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
