Linton – (Greene County) Just after 4:00 o’clock yesterday afternoon a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Patsey L. Munson, 75 of Worthington was traveling southbound on State Road 59 northwest of Linton. For unknown reasons, Munson continued to drive her vehicle the wrong way (southbound) onto a one-way (northbound) section of SR59.

As Munson approached the intersection of SR54 & SR59 traveling the wrong way, she failed to yield to a northbound 2014 Volvo semi-tractor and trailer driven by Stacey Thomas, 43 of Clinton, Indiana.

Thomas told troopers he attempted evasive maneuvers, applied his brakes and swerved in an attempt to avoid impact but was unable to do so.

Munson was deceased upon the emergency workers arrival. The family has been notified.

Thomas was physically uninjured. The crash is still under investigation.

AGENCIES ASSISTING – Greene County Sheriff’s Department, Linton Fire Department, Wright Township Fire Department, Greene County Ambulance Service & Sullivan County SCAT1 Ambulance Service.
