TRIBE NOTES

BRING THEM HOME: One of the Indians’ struggles this season has been hitting with runners on base. The Tribe are batting .211 (40-for-190) with runners aboard. Just four of the 13 batters Indianapolis has sent to the plate this season are hitting above .250 with ducks on the pond. One of the notable performers is Jason Rogers, who is hitting .294 (5-for-17) with two home runs and six RBI when runners are on base.

THE FINISHER: Right-hander Edgar Santana has been the finisher of games for Indy this season. Santana has made seven appearances and in all seven, he has finished the ballgame, which ranks him first in the International League. The hard-throwing righty is two-for-two in save opportunities with 0.93 ERA (1 ER in 9.1 IP).

BY THE NUMBERS – 6.0+ IP: Indians starters have strung together five consecutive starts of 6.0-plus innings pitched. It started with Steven Brault on April 16 @ Toledo, and has continued through the first four games of this homestand with Hutchison, Eppler, Holmes and Brault all tossing exactly 6.0 frames in succession. In 2016, there was one stretch (May 13-17) where Frank Duncan, Jameson Taillon, Wilfredo Boscan, Chad Kuhl and Tyler Glasnow tossed 6.0, 6.0, 6.0, 7.0 and 6.0 innings during a five-game stretch @ Scranton/W-B and at home vs. Columbus.
