Sullivan County – At 11:35 this morning, Indiana State Police and Sullivan County emergency agencies responded to a two-vehicle head-on crash in Shelburn. One driver was transported for injuries.

Preliminary investigation revealed a green 2003 Dodge Caravan, driven by 37-year-old Michael A. Mason of Shelburn, IN., was eastbound on Mill Street at Interurban Street when he crossed the center of the roadway and struck a westbound brown 2006 Ford F-150, driven by 69-year-old David K. Barley of Shelburn.

Michael Mason was transported to Sullivan County Community Hospital for the treatment of what is believed to be non-life threatening pain and facial lacerations. Mason was cited for driving left of center, no valid license, and not wearing his seatbelt. Fatigued driving on the part of Mason was a contributing factor in this crash.

David Barley was not injured nor cited.

The crash was investigated by ISP Master Trooper Tom Hanks. Assisting were Shelburn Fire/Rescue and Sullivan County EMS.

Under the Law, criminal charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
