On Thursday, March 30, 2017, detectives with the Violent Crimes Unit make a quick apprehension of 35-year-old Karl Woodall just before 10:00 p.m. The suspect was later transported to IMPD Headquarters where homicide detectives led by lead Detective D. Kepler questioned and subsequently arrested the suspect for the murder of 37-year-old Stefanie Coulson on Monday, March 27, 2017, just before 12:00 p.m. in the 3700 block of East Pleasant Run Parkway N. Dr.

After consultation with the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office, the suspect was arrested on a preliminary criminal charge of murder. Detective Kepler plans to meet with Prosecutors Office in the coming days to file formal charges.

Detectives believe an argument over a van led to the sensless and deadly shooting of the victim. A probable cause affidavit will not be available until the Prosecutors Office makes a charging decision.

Please note the attached booking photo is that of the suspect.
