[CAUGHT] WANTED: Shooting Suspect Gregory Lawson

Detectives have apprehended the suspect without incident at the original shooting location. The suspect returned to the scene where family members called police.

Detectives transported the suspect to IMPD Headquarters to be questioned about the shooting incident. The victim remains in critical condition at the hospital. Detectives have also recovered the suspect’s vehicle as well.

Detectives would like to thank the community and our media partners for helping locate the suspect.

Detectives are searching, and asking the community’s help to find, 43-year-old Gregory Lawson of Indianapolis who is alleged to have shot and critically wounded his 41-year-old girlfriend Kristina White of Indianapolis in an overnight shooting.

The suspect is described as a: white male, weighing approximately 145lbs, standing 5’5″ tall and slender build. The suspect is believed to be driving a 2014 red Ford Fusion with Indiana license plate number of XGZ556. The suspect is believed to be armed with a silver .38 revolver handgun and possibly other firearms.

Today (3/12/17) at approximately 3:40 a.m., officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were sent to the 6100 Timberland Way reference a person shot. When officers arrived, they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. EMS personnel immediately transported the victim to Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition. The suspect is alleged to have shot his girlfriend in the head and fled the scene, in the above-described suspect vehicle, before officers arrived.

If you see this vehicle or know the suspect’s whereabouts, you are asked to call IMPD by dialing 9-1-1. The suspect should be considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached by anyone but law enforcement. The lead detective on the case is Detective Edwards, please call him 317.327.4193 with any information or Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317.262.8477 (TIPS) if you have any information.
