Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) Accident investigators are on scene of a fatal accident where one man has died.
Just before 5:15 p.m. on 03/09/2017, officers with the IMPD were dispatched to the intersection of Kessler Blvd N Dr and Sylvan Rd on reports of a serious two vehicle accident. Indianapolis Fire Department (IFD) personnel responded with officers, where they located a badly damaged sedan and an inverted pickup truck. The driver of the pickup was transported to Methodist Hospital and was awake and breathing. The driver of the sedan had to be extricated from the vehicle by IFD, and was pronounced dead on-scene.
Accident investigators responded to the scene and began speaking with witnesses. Preliminary reports indicate that the sedan was south on Kessler Blvd N Dr when it crossed the center line and struck the truck head-on. The deceased male driver’s name can be obtained from the Marion County Coroner’s Office after proper next-of-kin notification has been made and verified.
