Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) Accident investigators respond to a serious accident that left one person dead.

Just before 6:30 p.m. on 3/30/2017, officers with the IMPD were dispatched to a serious accident located on Shadeland Ave north of Fall Creek Rd. When officers arrived they located three vehicles that had been involved.

Through the course of the investigation, investigators learned that a maroon Hyundai had rear-ended a gray Hyundai causing the gray Hyundai to spin into a red Nissan. The driver of the maroon Hyundai was transported to Methodist hospital. The driver of the gray Hyundai was unconscious and later transported to Methodist hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the red Nissan was checked by EMS at the scene.

No alcohol or drugs were suspected, however, blood draws will be conducted as is standard procedure in fatal accidents. The name of the deceased may be obtained through the Marion County Coroner’s Office after next-of-kin notification has been made.
