Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) North District Narcotic detectives serve warrant which produced four arrests, nets various narcotics, and three handguns.

At approximately 9 p.m. on 03/09/2017, detectives with North District Narcotics responded to the 4300 block of N Irvington Ave, along with members of the North District Flex Team and IMPD SWAT, to serve a narcotics search warrant. SWAT immediately took two people into custody who were outside the residence. 24-year-old Vernon Allen and 30-year-old Tara Parham.  Parham allegedly had a firearm on her person (and possessed valid gun permit), resisted arrest and fought with SWAT operators who were able to get her into custody.

Two other people that were detained inside the residence, 23-year-old William Taylor, (who was the target of the investigation), and 40-year-old Brian Combs, were ultimately arrested. During the search of the residence, the following items were recovered:

  • 1 Hydrocodone pill
  • 40 Xanax
  • Approximately 205 white 0.5mg oxycodone
  • Approximately 119 green 0.15mg oxycodone
  • Approximately 14.5 grams cocaine
  • Approximately 10 pounds of marijuana
  • ¾ bottle of liquid codeine
  • 3 handguns
  • $7,945.00 in cash

William Taylor and Brian Combs were arrested and preliminarily charged with dealing and possession of cocaine, dealing and possession of marijuana, dealing and possession of controlled substance.  Tara Parham was arrested and preliminarily charged with resisting law enforcement by force.  Vernon Allen was arrested and preliminarily charged with possession of a handgun as a felon and dealing/possession of a controlled substance along with possession of marijuana.  The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will review the case and make a final charging decision.

Narcotics and Vice detectives across the city continue to address incoming complaints from the community as well as identify narcotics activity through their own independent investigations. The IMPD is grateful for the community’s efforts and requests that anyone with information about criminal activity contacts Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317.262.8477 or (TIPS). Citizens can also download the mobile P3tips app for Apple or Android phones to submit a mobile tip, or go to www.CrimeTips.org to submit a web tip. You will remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1000 if the information leads to a felony arrest. Only tips submitted directly and anonymously to Crime Stoppers are eligible for these cash rewards. This release may be updated as more information becomes available.
