Man Takes Delivery of Fake Narcotics, Arrested

On Thursday (3/9/17) detectives with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Criminal Interdiction Section seized approximately 6 pounds of suspected marijuana, 1 kilogram of suspected methamphetamine, a handgun and $1,900.00 in cash.

While conducting a parcel investigation at a local packaging company, detectives were alerted to a suspicious package that smelled like the order of narcotics. Detectives applied, and were granted, a search warrant. Inside the box, detectives found suspected drugs. Detectives removed the suspected drugs and replaced the contents with fake narcotics. Detectives then followed the package to its intended delivery location indicated as 5000 E. 38th St.

The package arrived a man later identified as 44-year-old William Kinslow of Indianapolis took possession of the package filled with fake narcotics. The suspect opened the box and was subsequently stopped inside his vehicle by detectives in the 5000 block of Glenmar Lane where he was taken into custody without incident. Inside the suspect’s vehicle detectives found the delivered package, more suspected marijuana, a bag set up to be a mobile narcotic dispensary, a handgun, and cash.

The suspected was arrested and charged by the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office with several felonies, including Dealing in Marijuana and Methamphetamine and Carrying a Handgun without a License. The suspect was transported to the Arrestee Processing Center and is currently being held in the Marion County Jail.
