Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) homicide detectives have arrested 29-year-old Dontae Davis after the fatal shooting at the Bu Da Lounge Downtown. Davis was taken into custody last night by IMPD Violent Crimes Unit. Davis is preliminarily charged with Murder and Serious Violent Felon. The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will review the case and make a final charging decision.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department(IMPD) Homicide detectives are investigating after a man was shot to death.
Just before 3 a.m. on 01/29/2017, officers with the IMPD were dispatched to the 100 block of E Market St on reports of a person shot. Responding officers located an unresponsive male victim with an apparent gunshot wound. EMS personnel responded and transported the victim to Eskenazi Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries despite the best life-saving efforts.
Homicide detectives responded and began canvassing the area for witnesses. The Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency responded to assist in identifying and collecting possible forensic evidence. The victim’s name will be released once their next-of-kin has been notified.
