Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) Northwest Narcotics detectives execute a search warrant which resulted in the confiscation of heroin, marijuana, pills, and a shotgun.

Just after 11 a.m. on 01/31/2017, Northwest District Narcotics detectives, with the assistance of IMPD SWAT, executed a search warrant in the 100 block of N Sigsbee St, which was the target of a narcotics investigation. Detectives utilized proven investigative techniques to verify that narcotics were being distributed from the residence on Sigsbee and later applied for and were granted a search warrant. IMPD SWAT served the search warrant and detained 31-year-old Ryan Moran. Just before being taken into custody, Moran allegedly put some unknown substances into his mouth and swallowed. Moran was transported to Eskenazi Hospital’s detention area for observation.

During the search of the residence detectives recovered the following:

  • 3 grams of heroin
  • Marijuana
  • Undisclosed number of pills
  • Mossberg Shotgun
  • Drug paraphernalia

Moran faces preliminary charges of dealing narcotics, possession of narcotics, obstruction of justice, and maintaining a common nuisance. The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will review the case and make a final charging decision.

Narcotics and Vice detectives across the city continue to address incoming complaints from the community as well as identify narcotics activity through their own independent investigations. The IMPD is grateful for the community’s efforts and requests that anyone with information about narcotics or illegal activities, to immediately contact Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at (317)262-TIPS(8477). Tips given via Crime Stoppers should be considered anonymous.
