Thanks to the tremendous outpouring of tips from the community, IMPD Hit-and-Run detectives have identified the SUV and driver involved in a deadly hit-and-run crash on February 9, 2017, near the intersection of 38th and High School Road.

Detectives have identified the owner and driver of the vehicle as 42-year-old Matthew McQueen of Indianapolis. The suspect is alleged to have struck and killed 65-year-old Michael Hayden of Indianapolis. The suspect was arrested on preliminary charges of Failure to Stop at an Accident Resulting in Death (Level 5 Felony).

Detectives would like to remind drivers that if you find yourself involved in an accident regardless of injury, but certainly if the injury is thought to be serious, stop and notify the police. Detectives continue to be incredibly thankful for tips, calls, and emails received about this case that led them to the suspect and eventual arrest.
