Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) Homicide detectives are investigating after a man was found shot to death on the city’s southeast side.
Just before 11 p.m. on 01/28/2017, officers with the IMPD were dispatched to the 300 block of S State Ave on reports of shots fired. Responding officers located an unresponsive male, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. EMS personnel responded and pronounced the male dead on-scene.
Homicide detectives responded and began canvassing the area for witnesses. The Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency responded to assist in identifying and collecting possible forensic evidence. The male’s name will be released once next-of-kin has been notified.
