IMPD: Two Dead in I-70 Mobile Home Park

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Homicide officers responded to the 3000 block of West Morris Street reference several 9-1-1 calls of shots fired. Officers arrived and were directed to a mobile home with the front door partially open.

On 1/25/17 just before 8:00 p.m., officers arrived and could clearly see a female and male inside the mobile home both of whom were suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Officers also found an unharmed two-year-old baby inside the mobile home that they immediately removed for safety reasons. Officers did not find any other persons inside the mobile home.

IMPD Homicide detectives responded to the scene and learned that the victim, later identified as 27-year-old  Tiffany Greer, was likely shot by her boyfriend and then the boyfriend likely shot and killed himself. The boyfriend/suspect was later identified as 35-year-old Eric Harden. The two-year-old baby was placed with workers from the Indiana Department of Child Services. The female victim is the two-year-old child’s mother.

The Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency arrived and processed the scene for forensic evidence, and the Marion County Coroner’s Office arrived to transport the victim and suspect to the Coroner’s Office where planned autopsies will be completed. Records indicate that in 2015 IMPD responded to the location reference an argument between the victim and suspect where personal property was destroyed.

Often, the first actual instance of domestic violence occurs before the victim has the courage to report domestic-related violence to police. IMPD continues to encourage domestic violence victims, or their loved ones, to seek help ASAP. Many social service agencies are willing and able to help those in fear. If you are involved in a domestic violence environment (mental, verbal or otherwise) or know someone involved in a domestic environment, please call 2-1-1 to get help.
