Two Individuals Arrested After Long-Term Narcotics Investigation (July 21, 2016)

July 21, 2016 by Naptown Buzz

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) detectives, along with local and federal partners, arrested two individuals after the execution of a search warrant in the 4500 block of South Harding Street.

Indianapolis FBI Safe Streets Gang Task Force (SSGTF), Central Indiana Regional Gang Task Force (IMPD Gang Unit and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office Gang Unit) completed a 10-month investigation into a criminal enterprise suspected of importing large quantities of methamphetamine into Central Indiana.

Thomas Rexroat

After several months of investigative techniques, detectives secured a search warrant for a hotel room and on July 19th, the IMPD SWAT team safely executed the warrant without incident.  33-year-old Thomas Rexroat of Indianapolis and 36-year-old Michael Blakey of Suwanee, GA were found inside the hotel room and arrested for Dealing and Possession of Methamphetamine for their alleged involvement in the on-going narcotics investigation.

Michael Blakey

So far in the investigation detectives have seized:

  • Approximately 10 pounds of Methamphetamine
  • 4 vehicles
  • 1 stolen vehicle recovered
  • 7 handguns
  •  1 shotgun
  • $23,682 in cash

The probable cause and charging affidavits should be obtained from the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office. The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will review this case for a charging decision. This remains an active investigation, and additional information may be released at a later date.
