Man Shot, Killed, in the 1100 block of Sharon Ave (July 28th)

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) detectives are investigating after a man succumbs to injuries sustained after being shot on the city’s west side.

Just before 2 p.m. on 07/28/2016, IMPD officers responded to 1100 block of Sharon Ave, on reports of shots fired. While responding, additional calls came in stating that there was a person shot. Officers arrived on scene and located a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound, behind a residence. EMS personnel responded and transported the victim to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition, where he later died from his injuries. The victim was identified as 24-year-old, Indianapolis resident, Devon Grice.

IMPD homicide and aggravated assault detectives responded to the crime scene and began canvassing the area and interviewing witnesses. Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency responded to process the scene for possible forensic evidence. Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at (317)262-TIPS(8477). Information received via Crime Stoppers is considered anonymous. This release may be updated as more information becomes available.
