Male Shot, Killed in the 6200 Block of Commodore Drive (July 11, 2016)

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) homicide detectives identify suspect wanted for murder, who is later taken into custody with the assistance of the Violent Crimes Unit.

31-year-old Gregory Radford was located and arrested by IMPD Violent Crimes Unit earlier today, after he was identified as the suspect wanted for allegedly murdering 32-year-old Edward Branch, both of Indianapolis. Radford was taken into custody without incident and faces preliminary charge of Murder.

The final charging decision will be made by the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office. Anyone with information regarding this incident or others, is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at (317)262-TIPS. Information given through Crime Stoppers is considered anonymous. This release may be updated as more information becomes available.

6200-Commodore-Dr-46219Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) homicide detectives are investigating after a male succumbs to gunshot wounds received on the city’s East side.

IMPD officers were dispatched to the 6200 blk of Commodore Dr on the reports of a person shot, at around 1:40 a.m. on 07/11/2016. Officers arrived to find a 32-year-old male suffering from at least one gunshot wound, in a yard outside a residence. EMS personnel responded and transported the victim to Eskenazi hospital in critical condition where he later passed away.

Aggravated assault detectives initially responded, with the assistance of homicide detectives, and immediately began interviewing witnesses and canvassing the area for evidence. Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency responded to collect possible forensic evidence. The victim’s identity will be released after next of kin has been notified.
