Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) homicide detectives are investigating a homicide on the city’s west side after officers respond to reports of a person shot.
Just after 5 p.m. on July 20, 2016, IMPD officers were dispatched to the 3300 block of Tara lane, on reports of a person shot. Officers arrived to find a 21-year-old male, unresponsive and suffering from at least one gunshot wound. EMS personnel arrived and pronounced the victim dead on-scene.
IMPD homicide detectives quickly responded and immediately began gathering information from witnesses in an effort to ascertain the circumstances around the shooting and to develop suspect information.
The Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency responded to process the crime scene and collect possible forensic evidence.
