Detectives have released the name of the victim, he has been identified as 16-year-old Jaylan Murray of Indianapolis. Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances that resulted in the shooting death of the victim and continue to follow-up on all leads. INDIANAPOLIS – Detectives are investigating the suspicious death of a man found shot inside a car on the city’s northeast side.
Just after 4:00 p.m., officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to the 4400 blk. of Park Forest Court reference an unresponsive male inside a car. Officers arrived and found an unresponsive and unidentified male victim on the driver’s side of the vehicle. EMS personnel arrived and pronounced the male victim deceased. Once investigators have positively identified the victim, and his next-of-kin have been notified his name will be released.
Detectives have just arrived on the scene and are beginning to process the crime scene for evidence. The Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency will process the crime scene for forensic evidence. The Marion County Coroner’s Office will determine the identity, cause and manner of death after an autopsy is preformed tomorrow.
