Detectives have arrested 56-year-old Michael Love of Indianapolis on two preliminary counts of Aggravated Battery and one count of Criminal Recklessness. The suspect was detained, shortly after the shooting, and taken to IMPD Headquarters for questioning by detectives and subsequently arrested. Because this is an on-going investigation, no booking photo will be made available at the earliest Tuesday afternoon.

The male victim is identified as 25-year-old Zachariah Guyton and the female victim is identified as 32-year-old Sultanna Reed both of Indianapolis.

Monday July 20, 2015, 12:14 PM

At approximately 9:45 a.m., an officer, while on routine patrol, was flagged down by a complainant indicating they had just heard several gunshots in the area.  The officer immediately went to the 300 blk. of Eastern Ave. where he found two people shot.  The officer found two unidentified people suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.  A female victim was shot multiple times and a male victim was shot one time.  Both victims were transported to Eskenazi Health in critical condition.  It is believed that female and male victims are brother and sister.

Detectives have learned, that an unidentified suspect, dressed in a dress and wig, came up to the vehicle and started shooting as the victims and third uninjured person were loading five kids into a vehicle.  Thankful, none of the children were injured as a result of the suspect’s shooting.  The suspect was last seen fleeing the area on foot and then getting into a car.  Officers have stopped a vehicle and detained a person of interest, in the area of 4300 Audubon Rd.; however at this time detectives have not made any arrest.  Detectives have gathered information that this shooting is likely the result of an on-going domestic disturbance between the suspect and the female victim who was shot.

Several of IMPD’s Victim’s Assistance workers are on-scene to provide services for the family and children of this unfortunate incident.  The Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency is collecting evidence and detectives are canvassing the area for information.  Detectives will question the person interest at IMPD Headquarters, but until detectives name him a suspect or make an arrest,  his name will not be released at this time.  Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at (317) 262-TIPS (8477). Callers may also text “INDYCS” plus tip information to 274637 (CRIMES). All information shared via Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana is considered anonymous.
