NASCAR Hauler Parade to kick off 400 on July 23

July 21, 2015 by Naptown Buzz

Annual Hauler Parade

Activities preceding the 22nd annual Crown Royal Presents the Jeff Kyle 400 at the Brickyard NASCAR Sprint Cup race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway will once again include the seventh annual Hauler Parade on Thursday, July 23, on Main Street in Speedway, Indiana.

The event will take place from 5-8 p.m. Admission is free.

The traditional parade of more than 40 haulers – the colorful trucks that transport NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race cars to and from races during the season – will arrive on Main Street at 6 p.m. Fans can get an up-close look at the Haulers while they are parked between 10th and 15th Streets.

A special appearance will be made by Hauler Parade Grand Marshal Jeff Kyle, the American hero who is the namesake of the Crown Royal Presents the Jeff Kyle 400 Sprint Cup Series race on Sunday, July 26, at IMS. Kyle will be integrated into a series of VIP activities throughout the race weekend that will honor America’s past and present military heroes.

Also appearing at the Hauler Parade on Main Street in Speedway will be Miss Sprint Cup and Miss Coors Light.

Accompanying activities will include live music from Indiana-based country recording artist Jai Baker, who appeared on network television shows “The Voice” and “American Idol.” Native Hoosier and country music singer-songwriter Jessie Brown will also perform on the Hauler Parade Stage located on the north end of Main Street.

In addition to the live music, there will be displays representing the Indiana Pacers, the Indy Fuel, the Indy Eleven, Wish 4 Our Heroes and radio stations WFMS/WJJK. Food trucks will also be available along with the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Trophy, a NASCAR tire changer, a strider course, a bounce house and a face painter.

Parking will be available on Speedway town streets west of Main Street and also at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway’s gravel Main Gate Parking Lot, located on the south side of 16th Street, east of the Speedway gas station.

At 7:55 p.m. fans may watch the haulers parade north on Main Street and east on 16th Street as they depart the Hauler Parade single-file and enter the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

The complete Hauler Parade schedule:

5 p.m. Hauler Parade begins. Live music by Jai Baker (Hauler Parade Stage, Main Street, Speedway)
