Indianapolis Indians Win 3-0, Improve to 51-34

Radhames Liz paced a shutout with eight strikeouts in six innings and Elias Diaz delivered a pinch-hit, two-run double as the Indianapolis Indians (51-34) claimed a series win for the ninth time in 12 tries with a 3-0 victory over the Louisville Bats (41-44) on Monday night at Victory Field.

Liz (2-1) worked his longest outing of the season and allowed just one runner to advance beyond first base. He struck out two of the next three batters following a leadoff double to strand his lone threat and earn his second straight win.

Since joining the rotation, Liz is 2-0 with 21 strikeouts and just one run over 15 innings in three starts.

Diaz pinch hit for the Indians’ right-hander with two outs in the sixth, driving a ball to the left-center field wall to score Keon Broxton and Wilkin Castillo for the game-winning hit.

Josh Wall pitched the seventh and Triple-A rookie Jeff Inman allowed one hit in two innings for his first save.
