Tuesday June 30th, 2015 – 10:38 AM

On June 30, 2015, officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) were dispatched to the 1300 block of North Ewing Street on the report of shots fired.  When officers arrived, they found an unresponsive male inside of a residence with a gunshot wound to the neck.  The victim was pronounced deceased by EMS personnel at the scene.

At this time, IMPD Homicide investigators are canvassing the area for witnesses and potential evidence. Investigators do not believe this to be a random act; however, the details surrounding the victim’s death are still under investigation. The Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency arrived to process the crime scene and gather forensic evidence. The victim’s identity is not being released at this time, pending positive identification and family notifications.

Detectives urge anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at (317) 262-TIPS (8477). Callers may also text “INDYCS” plus tip information to 274637 (CRIMES). All information shared via Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana is considered anonymous.
