The 2015 Midwest Toy Fest Runs June 6-7 at Wyndham West Hotel

The Midwest Toy Fest kicks off the summer comic book and collectibles convention season this weekend, June 6-7, at the Wyndham West Hotel.

The show runs Saturday, from 3-8 p.m., and Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“There’s never been a better time to be a comics and collectibles fan. Pop culture is filled with superheroes, comic book, science fiction, fantasy, video game, and toy characters in movies, on TV, and pretty much everywhere else you look,” said Aaron Philebaum, Director of Operations for Midwest Toy Fest. “We’re thrilled to offer an affordable, family-friendly event for fans of all ages to come together and enjoy all the things they love most about modern geek culture.”

Midwest Toy Fest is an Indianapolis-based celebration of toys, comics, cosplay, collectibles, gaming and geek culture where fans of all ages can come together to share their hobbies and passions with other fans, vendors, artists, and creators. This year’s show includes over 20,000 square feet of space devoted to programming, panels, costume contests, community groups, and over 100 new and vintage toy sellers, comic book dealers, and artists from throughout the Midwest.

The 2015 event program is packed with panels and special guests and offers something of interest to all show attendees, including a Q and A with The Travel Channel’s Toy Hunter, Jordan Hembrough.

Attendees may also participate in several hands-on activities during the event, including an Adult and Kids Costume Contest, on-site photo opportunities, Midwest Toy Fest Kids coloring area, Game Stop video game room, and a Drink & Draw event hosted by local artist Stuart Sayger.

“The Indianapolis toy and comic convention circuit has exploded over the past couple years, and we really love that each show offers a unique experience to show attendees,” said Philebaum. “When planning Midwest Toy Fest, our goal was finding a way to bring the experience of a big, multi-day show to the area without the big, multi-day price tag that often comes with it.

“We have a nice mix of programming, contests, vendors, and artists that really focuses on the immense talent and one-of-kind vendor offerings we have in the Midwest and will appeal to fans and enthusiasts of all ages at a very friendly price.”

Admission to the show is $11 for a two-day pass and $6 for a Sunday-only ticket for adults and children 12 and older. Children under 12 receive free admission with a paid adult ticket. Show passes can be purchased on-site the day of the show at the Midwest Toy Fest registration desk or in advance on the show’s website at www.midwesttoyfest.com.
