Easy Product Photography for Beginners January 26th at Homespun

January 12, 2013 by Brian Groce

magnet_making_workshopEasy Product Photography for Beginners, by Rana Salame Striedinger of Rana Salame Designs

Saturday, January 26, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm

Do you have an online shop – or a great idea for one! – but don’t know the first thing about how to photograph your handmade goods to represent them clearly and accurately? Do you wish you could get clean and intriguing images from your mobile phone or point & shoot camera? Then this one-day workshop is targeted towards you, the seller without a complex DSLR camera or fancy photo editing software. Join this workshop and develop your catalog of product imagery. Learn basic photography rules of composition, lighting tips, prop usage, and background selection to maximize your images and make your products shine!

Rana Salame Striedinger is the owner and creator of Rana Salame Designs, her handmade gemstone jewelry line. She sells her baubles in her Etsy shop, at various craft shows, and at Homespun: Modern Handmade. Rana prides herself on creating stunning images to coincide with each of her one of a kind gemstone creations. She also has several years of lifestyle photography under her belt. She fancies herself the Lebanese Martha Stewart and spends her days baking, cooking, creating, crafting, collecting, and caring for her daughter, Lulu Pearl. Rana is also the current coordinator of workshops and gallery exhibits here at Homespun: Workshops & Gallery.

Workshop fee is $50.

Students are required to bring basic camera (mobile phone or point & shoot), products, and props. More information given upon registration.

Workshop Information

All workshops are held at: Homespun: Workshops & Gallery at 206 South Audubon Road, Indianapolis, IN 46219. The workshop space is just around the corner and up the street from our retail storefront at 5624 East Washington Street.

Please make your best effort to sign up for workshops at least 48 hours before they run, otherwise the workshop could be cancelled for lack of attendees. Also, if your class requires that you bring your own supplies, please give yourself plenty of time to ensure you have what you need. Anywhere from 3-5 days before a class should be sufficient. All supplies can be found locally and are usually readily available.

For more information or to sign up for the workshop, email workshops@homespunindy.com or call 317-351-0280.
