Marketing Software Firm Grows Indianapolis Operations

August 14, 2012 by Mel McMahon

C.I.K. Enterprises, LLC, a measured marketing software and services company, announced plans to expand its operations in Indianapolis, creating up to 57 new jobs by 2016.

The homegrown Hoosier company will continue to lease a 30,000 square-foot facility located at 7225 Georgetown Road on the west side of Indianapolis. As part of the project, the company has already begun installing new information technology equipment.

“CIK encapsulates all the reasons for and benefits of doing business in Indianapolis,” said Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard. “The company’s growth is a reflection of the outstanding commitment they have made to providing excellent service to their clients while investing in our community. I congratulate the team at CIK for its success today and moving forward.”

CIK, which currently employs 44 full-time associates in Indiana, has already begun hiring additional software architects, information technology support, sales, customer service, and management employees.

“CIK has been working diligently over the last couple of years to create an innovative marketing software platform. Our software launched with great success within Tri-Auto Enterprises, our automotive division and is currently being rolled out in our other two companies, Trace Communications and BizProps,” said Rick Smith, chief financial officer of CIK. “Indiana, under the Daniels’ Administration, has been incredibly supportive of companies such as CIK that are focused on growth, specifically in the technology arena, which has made our desire to focus our employee growth within the state.”

Launched in 2001 by founders Scott Hill and Andy Medley, the Indianapolis-based company has seen business more than triple since 2004 and generated $22 million in revenue in 2011. The company emphasizes giving back to the community and service through its Community Gateway program. The program seeks out charitable opportunities for the company and their employees, such as donating Christmas presents for needy families and volunteering at youth organizations.

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered C.I.K. Enterprises, LLC up to $465,000 in conditional tax credits and up to $50,000 in training grants based on the company’s job creation plans. These tax credits are performance-based, meaning until Hoosiers are hired, the company is not eligible to claim incentives. The city of Indianapolis supports the project through additional incentives at the request of Develop Indy.

“Innovative software companies like CIK know the importance of combing a stable, sustainable business climate with a skilled workforce in our fast-paced world,” said Dan Hasler, Secretary of Commerce and chief executive officer of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation. “From our low-tax climate to the more than 1,700 information technology graduates produced by Hoosier colleges and universities last year alone, Indiana provides an environment for high tech, high growth companies to thrive.”

CIK is one of more than 70 return-on-investment-based digital marketing businesses, or “measured marketing” companies that call the Hoosier State home. Others include ExactTarget, Aprimo, Compendium, Right On Interactive, ModalLogix, Delivra and Formstack.
