The Fourth Wall at the White Rabbit Cabaret on May 10th

May 3, 2012 by Naptown Buzz

The Indiana based “hybrid arts” ensemble, The Fourth Wall, will make its debut in Indianapolis this month with a performance at the White Rabbit Cabaret on Thursday, May 10th at 8pm.
21 and over, $5 at the door.

Audiences will see a flute player dancing “en pointe” as she plays the character of a mechanical ballerina, a trombone player singing and playing at the same time (while playing a percussion instrument attached to his hat) and a percussionist playing half of a flute. And that is only a small part of what they do – you have to see it to believe it.

The Fourth Wall is a unique ensemble that explores a hybrid of the performing arts in which musicians are also dancers and actors. Stretching the boundaries of instrumental performance, the ensemble commissions new works and reinterprets established repertoire to make music that leaps from the stage. The Fourth Wall is comprised of flutist Hilary Abigana, bass trombonist C. Neil Parsons and percussionist Greg Jukes. The ensemble has presented their unique style of performing from coast to coast, mainly at universities, so these public performances will be the first chance for Indianapolis audiences to experience the hybrid arts.

Please note that while The Fourth Wall’s performances are appropriate for all ages, the White Rabbit is a 21 and over establishment. Doors open at 7 pm and the performance begins at 8 pm. There is a $5 cover charge at the door
