Race Into Reading is a new fundraiser supporting the Day Nursery Association Tuition Assistance Scholarship fund. The race-themed event celebrates early childhood literacy and Day Nursery’s century-long commitment to early childhood education.

The honorary chair of the event is 2010 Indy 500 Rookie of the Year Simona De Silvestro, driver of the #78 Nuclear Clean Air Energy car from the Lotus HVM Racing Team. The event will be emceed by veteran motor sports broadcaster Bob Jenkins.

Enjoy wine and hors d’oeuvres, talk motor sports, try your hand at our Lap Around Literacy games and get a first look at the 2012 Day Nursery Teachers’ Choice Best Books selections.

Support of the Day Nursery Race Into Reading event will help low-income children from 250 Indianapolis families have access to a literacy-rich environment and a great early childhood education through the Day Nursery Tuition Assistance Scholarship fund.

Tickets are $100 each and are on sale now online at www.daynursery.org/events or by calling the Day Nursery Association office at 317-636-9197 ext. 222 during normal business hours.

Founded in 1899, Day Nursery is the oldest and largest non-profit provider of early care and education in Indiana. Each year Day Nursery of Indianapolis serves more than 1,300 children ages six weeks to six years old in seven centers.
